December 12, 2009 - The Springfield Area Parent Child Center has received the top grant award of $25,000 from the Vermont General Assembly. The state grant, awarded through a competitive bidding process, will be used for construction of the new Parent Child Center building in North Springfield. Executive Director, Betty Kinsman received the award from Governor Jim Douglas in a ceremony in the House Chamber in Montpelier.

The Parent Child Center's application was one of numerous proposals received by the state legislature which were then ranked on their merits.

“We’re very pleased and excited to receive the top grant award from the State Assembly,” Kinsman said. “Our new building will help us reduce waiting lists for infant and toddler care and will enhance many of our other existing programs for families in our region,” she added.
